We offer a very warm and homely atmosphere in a unique and peaceful environment. Our main house have 5, comfortable double rooms with shared bathroom facilities. The kitchen is very well equipped with all cutlery, crockery, utensils, an electric stove, gas plates, a fridge and freezer and a microwave. If you are not in the mood for cooking, we can spoil you with one of our tasty, prior arranged, 'braai' or 'potjie' meals. (These meals are R85. 00 p/p) The large garden area with a big boma/braai (bbq) and outside eating areas, offer you ample space to relax! We do not sell alcohol on the premises, but you are welcome to bring your own and we have a 'pub' area where you can sit and relax and enjoy your drinks.
Also on offer is an outside double room with excellent ablation facilities close-by and a family room with 1 x double and 1 x single beds, with an ensuite shower and toilet facility. All under the shade of Marula and other indigenious trees. Our self-catering kitchen and Boma/Braai (BBQ) area is there for your use. We also have ample parking space and a security guard is always around.
We recommend you to join us on one of our open-vehicle game drives into the National Park, conducted by a professional Field Guide. Further information for the game drives are available on request. Extras include fire shows, Zulu dancing, star gazing, bird watching, trips to St Lucia Estuary (we offer a 3-day trip, information of which, is also available on request) and surrounding areas including rural Zulu Villages, etc.
Hluhluwe Backpackers is an ideal place where you find the relaxation and tranquility you are looking for!
It's the ideal base to go exploring the many, smaller, game reserves in the area. Nearby places include: False Bay, Sodwana Bay (for snorkeling & scuba diving), St Lucia Estuary (a World Heritage site), where hippo's and crocodiles can be spotted and boat trips can be undertaken, Cape Vidal Marine Reserve is ideal for snorkeling and en-route from St Lucia, the rare Samango Monkey (Monkeys in the Mist), can be seen. The Swaziland Border is ± 1. 5 hours' drive away from Hluhluwe.
Visit the DumaZulu Cultural Village and other local arts & craft markets. Cheetahs and cerval cats can be viewed at the Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitation Centre and reptiles and crocodiles at the Crocodile Centre. Bird watching in these areas are amazing! Lots to see and lots to do!
The 'town' Hluhluwe is ±12km from here, where you can find shops, supermarkets, liquor outlets and a variety of fast food restaurants. Banks and ATM's are available. There are pharmacies, doctors, an Internet Cafe, post office, fuel stations, etc.

Visti to the DumaZulu Cultural Village and local sites, which will end with a lovely BBQ (Braai) in the evening.
A full-day game drive in the National Park, with lunch at the magnificent , 4 Star, 'Hilltop Camp', more game driving and ending the day with a delicious 'potjie'.
A visit to the St Lucia Estuary (a World Herritage site) where hippos and crocodiles can be viewed by boat. Snorkeling is an option at Cape Vidal, ending the day with fresh fish, for instance, at a local restaurant.
Morning of the 4th Day:
A walk up the mountain to view the last Resting Place of the 'Old Chief'. A brunch is offered afterwards.
